Four Ways to Get Some Exercise When You’re Traveling in an RV
There are a lot of great things about traveling in an RV when you rent one from Outdoorsy! It gives you the freedom to travel anywhere in the country at your own pace, experiencing the culture wherever you go.
Unfortunately, when most people are on vacation, exercising takes a backseat to sitting while you wait to arrive at your destination. Then, when you get there, you’ll probably spend most of your time relaxing. That can be detrimental to your health, especially if you’re taking a long trip in the RV.
Stretch Your Muscles
When you’re actually on the road, there isn’t a whole lot you can do to stay active, but that doesn’t mean the only thing you can do is sit in that seat! Stay flexible and keep your muscles from getting sore by stretching while you sit in your seat.
Many of the tips that work for people who sit at a desk work well for those sitting in an RV. Doing air circles with your arms, standing up and down in your seat, and torso twists can all help keep you from getting stiff when you’re on your way to your final destination.
Know How to Exercise in a Small Space
You don’t have to have room for a treadmill in the RV in order to get some exercise! There are plenty of ways you can get some exercise in a small space. In the RV, you can do:
- Sink pulls
- Lazy sit-ups in bed
- Clapping wall pushups
- Sidestep calf raises with a chair
Resistance bands can work wonders in the RV too. Plus, they don’t contribute to your RV’s weight like traditional weights will!
Go for a Walk
Walking is one of the best ways to get a little exercise, and in an RV, it’s easy. All you have to do is pull over at a park and go for a quick stroll!
Just make sure you get the most out of your walk. That means swinging your arms to work out your upper body and picking up the pace to elevate your heart rate. You can even try walking backwards to work out a few different muscles.
Know What Gym to Join
Going for a walk and doing a few stretches isn’t going to be enough for the hardcore workout aficionado. If getting in a good sweat every day is important to you, look into joining a gym. Just make sure you know which gym to join.
Look for a gym, like Anytime Fitness, that has thousands of locations all across the U.S. That way, when you’re in need of a workout, all you have to do is find the nearest location.
Don’t let your RV vacation turn you into a lazy bum! With these tips, you can stay fit and healthy while you’re on the road, no matter what your fitness level.
